inches & stuff

‘Oh darling, don’t you ever grow up, don’t you ever grow up. Just stay this little.
Oh, darling, don’t you ever grow up, don’t you ever grow up. It could stay this simple.’ -Taylor Swift

We’re growing inches in this house. Well, kind of. The boys had some good growth spurts this spring. Ella is already 1.5″ longer. The writing on the wall reminds us- these kiddos are growing. I just filled out Ry’s kindergarten paperwork. Yikes! Mixed emotions for sure. & outside the grass is growing. Lots of inches, lots of growth. Happy Friday & have a great weekend!

weeeee on the swings

‘One swing set, well worn but structurally sound, seeks new home.
Make memories with your kid or kids so that someday he or she or they will look into the backyard and
feel the ache of sentimentality as desperately as I did this afternoon.
It’s all fragile and fleeting, dear reader, but with this swing set,
your child(ren) will be introduced to the ups and downs of human life gently and safely,
and may also learn the most important lesson of all:
No matter how hard you kick, no matter how high you get, you can’t go all the way around.’ – John Green

Our local park is well worn. Actually it’s fair to say it’s over worn. 20+ years ago, I swung on these swings. Today the equipment rusts away & sits haphazardly. A new park will be built in the near future. For this, I am thankful.

Tonight

A beautiful evening. We enjoyed the outside for some overdue sun rays. The camera accompanied me, along with my lensbaby. Here’s to our dry day.

Rain puddles

‘Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.’ -Roger Miller

Rain, rain, go away…you know the rest. But it doesn’t often go away on this island of ours, so you make do. The raincoats are always accessible. The boots are always on. & the puddles? They’re always awaiting a good jump or two.
